Sicily has long been a crossroads and crucible of Mediterranean culture, and the island today is full of Greek temples, Norman churches and Baroque ‘palazzos’. It also has natural wonders aplenty, from the smoking craters of Mount Etna to the still relatively undiscovered beaches of the southern coast.

With parts of the island on the same latitude as the North African coast, Sicily has a glorious climate that makes it an attractive destination for much of the year. VICTA is excited to be returning to Sicily with Seable Holidays year after three previous very successful trips.

Planned activities may be subject to change but currently include:

  • Visit to the active volcano Mount Etna, including a drive to the summit at 3000 metres above sea level. There will also be a tasting session of local produce that includes honey, wine, olives and olive oil.
  • Excursion to the ancient port of Catania
  • Visit to the Tactile Museum which boasts three floors of models from across the world and a sensory garden
  • Sicilian dessert/ice cream tasting session
  • Sporting activities – our group may try scuba diving or windsurfing (depending on weather conditions and participants choice)
  • Trip to a traditional organic farm and vineyards

Our trips to Sicily have proved a truly cultural experience for our participants in the past, from feeling the heat from the rocks of Mount Etna, to harvesting olives, our young people have gained so many memorable experiences. These will last a lifetime and are why we are so excited to return and offer more young people the opportunity to experience this fascinating island.

Please note to qualify for one of our international trips you must have previously attended a VICTA activity. This requirement is to ensure we understand your needs and can offer the support you will require when travelling with us.
