We are proud to be the official charity partner for Big Cow Events.
With more than 14 years’ experience of hosting multi-sports events in the Milton Keynes area, Big Cow has an established portfolio that includes National Championships and the iconic ‘Cowman’ triathlon. So whether you are a beginner or serious competitor, you are in experienced hands. All races are managed and run to British Triathlon Association standards.
People are motivated to do a triathlon for a whole host of reasons, whatever your reason we would love to be a part of your motivation. Raise funds to help children and young people who are blind and partially sighted. Without any government funding we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to make a difference.
Things to think about…
The swim is freestyle. So whatever your style or favoured stroke, you can choose the one that is best for you. As an open water swim, wet suits are compulsory but don’t worry if you don’t have one, they are available to hire. For further details check out the Big Cow website at big-cow.com
The bike ride
In addition to investing in a good helmet, your bike will need to be road worthy. Again don’t worry. Free bike check-ups and tune-ups are available on the day of the event free of charge from Corley Cycles (any required parts will be charged for). Information on Corley Cycles can be found at corleycycles.com
As with any competitive run, the course is well signed, relatively flat and not overly challenging with regular water stations. Find your space, settle into a comfortable pace and push for the finish. And look out for the VICTA cheerleaders who will help cheer you home.
If this is your first race, remember, as a beginner, you won’t be on your own. There are marshals on hand at each transition to ensure you get it right and ensure a smooth changeover.
Last minute injury
If injury forces you to pull out at the last minute, places can be deferred for a year, so your efforts and fundraising will not be wasted.
