This was VICTA’s second visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour – we decided to return as places on our first trip filled up so incredibly quickly! The trip was for young people aged up to 17 with a parent or carer and when the day came our excited group gathered together at the entrance. The tour was tailored for VI young people with added sensory elements not available to the general public. This really helped bring the tour to life and enhanced the whole experience. We split into three small groups with an ‘interactor’ from the studios joining each group. The interactors were amazing and full of fantastic in-depth information about the sets and films. They kept us all entertained and enthralled with their behind the scenes knowledge as they walked us round the tour.
There was a sensory element to the day as the young people were invited to touch some of the props. We were very lucky that the animal actors from the films were in attendance as it was half-term. The families enjoyed meeting Crookshanks, Fang, Pigwidgeon, Hedwig, Trevor the toad and others.
The families gathered to sit together for lunch and throughout the course of the day got to know each other. It was great to see the young people mixing well together in their groups and having fun. We had some lovely feedback from the day and high praise for the studio interactors. All-in-all it was a magical day!
“Both Sehira and I have a fabulous time at Harry Potter Studios and all the VICTA staff were wonderful , entertaining and very kind …. Thank you so much. Yasmin & Sehira xxx” “Thank you Victa Milton Keynes from Morgan & I for am amazing day at Harry Potter. Lovely to meet so many nice people & great fun at the Studios.” “Brilliant! We were in group one, and our guide, Steven Knight, was excellent. He was a natural for this, even though he admitted he’d never led a tour for the visually-impaired before. If you run this again, I’d recommend you request him in advance, and it would be lovely if VICTA could drop Warners a line to say how appreciated his efforts were.” “A truly fantastic day out – thank you!”
