Joint VICTA Family Day with BucksVision, May 2016

VICTA teamed up with fellow local charity BucksVision to work together on a family fun day, aimed at families within and local to Buckinghamshire. Once again we went to the Caldecotte Xperience, where we had outdoor activity sessions for the children including rock climbing, zorbing, caving and archery, plus a bouncy castle, some toys for the younger ones, and T-shirt painting.

There was a prize for the best painted T-shirt, and BucksVision also devised a build-a-monster competition and a ‘find Sulley’ game where one lucky child got to win a cuddly Sulley (from Disney’s ‘Monters Inc.’). Thankfully the weather was on our side, perfect for the BBQ and for cake and tea in the marquee, all provided by Tesco. Tesco also very kindly donated goody bags for all the children, so no one left hungry or empty-handed!

We had 12 families turn up on the day, and a great medley of staff from VICTA, BucksVision, RNIB and Tesco to run the day. It was a great success, with something for everyone to enjoy, and we’ve had some lovely feedback from the families. Hopefully VICTA and BucksVision can collaborate again in future.
