Code Jumper

VICTA/RNIB grant criteria

RNIB and VICTA are working together to support children and young people who are blind or partially sighted to study with greater independence using technology.

If you are registered blind or partially sighted, aged between 7 and 11 years old and a UK resident you could be eligible for a Code Jumper, an innovative product designed to promote an understanding of basic coding and computer science with learners who are blind or have a vision impairment. The Code Jumper was originally designed by Microsoft and was developed by APH (The American Printing House for the Blind). This educational tool bridges the skills gap and opens up the world of coding to every learner.

Designed for children aged 7 to 11 years, this award-winning product takes coding off the computer screen and puts it physically into learners’ hands. Parents can facilitate Code Jumper lesson plans, there’s no prior computing experience required.
