The last event of the Summer holidays saw VICTA visit the Think Tank Science Museum in Birmingham. This was a popular family day, with nearly 50 people in attendance. The Museum is interactive and fun, and it seemed that children could be as noisy and active as they liked!
As it was the school holidays, there was a variety of workshops and talks that families could attend, and several of them had tactile objects that the children could hold. The Sealife workshop was a particular favourite. Another popular part of the museum was the science garden. It was a glorious sunny day, and so many people spent a long time here, playing with the water games, chair pulleys and other educational games and toys.
Many of the families met in the picnic area at lunch time, which gave parents a chance to talk and the children a chance to make new friends or catch up with old ones. The Think Tank day was a fun, educational day out, and provided a different way to spend one of the last days of the summer holiday.
