Project Description

  • When: 14 to 19 August 2020

  • Who: 14 to 17 years

  • Location: YHA Alstonefield, Peak District

  • Cost: £90

  • Closing Date: Friday 24 April 2020

Young people understand the severity of the environmental crisis far better than adults and are acting on it. Join other like-minded young people concerned about our environment as VICTA team up with the Peak District National Park this summer.

With exclusive use of YHA Alstonefield accommodation, an ideal setting to meet other young people of a similar age group, you will also have the opportunity to develop independence and life skills. The bunk-bed hostel environment will rely on the whole group working together on key parts of the day such as meal times and evening entertainment.

You will actively contribute to the diverse range of environmental and conservation projects that will maintain the upkeep of one of the UK’s most popular and important destinations.

You will also spend time out in the Peak District to explore the area and its unique history. We will be making our own bakewell puddings at The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop, and then going out to explore the Tissington Trail by bike.

Make a positive environmental impact on a UK National Park, try new activities with new friends and earn an award all at the same time.

All participants are expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from the meeting points at the start and end of the trip.
