VICTA invites you to another fun filled Family Day, this time at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to enjoy art without walls!

The Park will be hosting the inaugural Yorkshire Sculpture International Festival, with works from the likes of Damien Hirst, David Smith, Kimsooja and many more.

Beginning the day, everyone will be able to take part in an artist supported workshop. This will include a playful activity-based walk in the morning, followed by a sculpture making workshop in the afternoon, which will encourage you to work in teams to build a large-scale sculpture outside.

It promises to be a very creative day with plenty of art work and sculptures around for us to get hands on with. With 80 works in the open air, there are many hidden treasures to hunt for, and unlike traditional galleries, at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park you will be able to touch many of the sculptures. Family favourites in the Park include ‘Playground’ by artist collective Greyworld, a musical sculpture that children will love to step across, and ‘Crawling’ by Sophie Ryder, a half-woman, half-hare made from casts of domestic items and plastic toys.

There are facilities to buy lunch at the visitor centre, or you are welcome to bring your own with you as a picnic area is also available.

Sorry this activity is now closed.
