VICTA is looking for volunteers to support on an international trip as we attend the 31st International Camp on Communication and Computers in Dubrovnik, Croatia in summer 2026.

The International Camp on Communication and Computers is an annual event, held in a different European country each time. This is a fantastic opportunity to be fully immersed within the European VI community.

This is a unique opportunity to learn how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Assistive Technologies (AT) can enrich the lives of people who are blind or partially sighted. There will also be insightful and career-boosting workshops focussed on CV writing, presentation skills and interview techniques. In addition to technology-based sessions, the itinerary in previous years has also included cultural, leisure time workshops which could include dance, drama, music, goalball and cooking. As well as the workshops, as a group, we will also have opportunities to explore Dubrovnik with excursions and group activities.

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals to help support a group of adults to access the ICC programme. This will include supporting with mobility, accessing workshops, mealtimes and free time leisure activities as well as facilitating social interaction between the participants to help develop independence, confidence and resilience when travelling independently and meeting others.

In previous years, ICC have requested that we deliver workshops as part of the programme. If you have a particular skill or knowledge in an area that you feel could form a workshop which would then be delivered by you to the ICC cohort, please let us know in the form below. For example, previous VICTA workshops have been on CV writing, arts and crafts and task-based problem-solving.

Note: this activity is not hosted by VICTA and therefore the logistics of this activity are outside of VICTA’s control. Volunteers may be required to share rooms with members of staff and volunteers from other country groups.

Volunteers applying for ICC 2026 must have supported VICTA on a UK based activity previously. Please note that volunteers are asked to purchase their own travel insurance for this activity and VICTA will ask for the details of the policy.
