VICTA is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity with Merseyside Adventure Sailing Trust (MAST). MAST’s mission is to guide, coach and provide educational and practical support to enable young people to achieve their potential.
There is a chance for a couple of VICTA’s VI young adults to join MAST on a Tall Ship sailing experience which is taking place in June voyaging from Liverpool to Dublin, and VICTA is looking for an upbeat, energetic, resilient volunteer to join them! The cost of the sail is £1,250 and this includes transportation from the meeting point to the ship; full on board training which includes hoisting the sails, navigating and steering and cleaning the deck; food; accommodation; return ferry from Dublin to Holyhead and minibus from Holyhead to Liverpool.
Please note: you must have previous experience with supporting and guiding someone with a vision impairment to volunteer for this opportunity as your past experience and feedback to MAST will help them shape a full VI tall ship experience in 2024.
While VICTA is unable to assist with financing this trip, help can be offered with support and advice around fundraising for it.
