Your commitment is key

As a small charity, we rely on our volunteers: they are very much the lifeblood of our operations. While activities staff are often focused on the administration and logistics of an event, volunteers are critical to the successful delivery of activities.

When volunteers pull out at short-notice it is not simply an inconvenience, it can substantially undermine the quality of the activities we provide. And in the case of residential activities, we will have not just invested in valuable staff time planning the event but will have committed funds to things such as venue hire, hotels rooms and possibly flights. If you cancel at the last minute or simply don’t turn up, that investment can go to waste.

If you need to cancel

If you’re a volunteer and cancelling is unavoidable, we ask for a minimum of five days’ notice. This should give us enough time to find a suitable replacement. If you must cancel at the last minute (fewer than five working days’ notice), please contact us directly by phone as soon as you can. The sooner you can let us know the better, it gives us a greater chance of being able to carry on with the activity.
