Join VICTA as we attend the 31st International Camp on Communication and Computers in Dubrovnik this Summer!
This is such a unique opportunity to learn how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Assistive Technologies (AT) can enrich the lives of people who are blind or partially sighted while connecting with likeminded peers from all across Europe. There will also be insightful and career-boosting workshops focussed on CV writing, presentation skills and interview techniques. In addition to technology-based sessions, the itinerary in previous years has included leisure time and cultural workshops which could include music, goalball, swimming, VI baseball and cooking. As well as the workshops, students will also have opportunities to explore Dubrovnik with excursions and group activities.
You will join with students from across Europe to enjoy plenty of intercultural activities, communication and networking, discussions on planning for future studying and job integration, together with fun and leisure time activities. This is a great opportunity to find out about different cultures and meet likeminded individuals from different countries. Previous participants have made life-long friends and the experience has encouraged further independent travel.
While VICTA is subsidising this activity, we ask for a contribution of £475, which will help cover flights, accommodation, food, activities, workshops and the entrance fee to ICC. Attendees may wish to bring some extra spending money for souvenirs, food and drink while out exploring and there is usually a cafe/bar on site. This activity is not hosted by VICTA, we are participating in the ICC programme, as such, the logistics of this activity are outside of VICTA’s control. You are expected to purchase your own travel insurance and VICTA will ask for the details of your policy before this activity takes place.
You will find out if you have been successful in gaining a place on this activity shortly after the closing date. If you are offered a place, a non-refundable deposit of £75 will be required for payment by Friday 27 February to secure your flight booking.
If you withdraw from this activity after accepting a place, your deposit is non-refundable. Any further monies paid will only be refunded if VICTA is able to offer your place to another successful participant.
The payment schedule for successful applications will be as follows:
