Join VICTA and other families at MK Gallery this Easter for an interactive exploration of their latest exhibition!
MK Gallery have designed a bespoke workshop for VICTA families, Julia and the team explain below
I took my body to the art gallery. Every body was welcome.
Join sensory artist Julia for an exploration of bodies, measurements, and movement inspired by Euan Uglow: An Arc From the Eye. Create your very own measuring tool (using ribbons and touchable materials), then take it on a journey around the gallery as part of our award-winning sensory tour programme.
You’ll be able to get hands on with anatomical models, discover what it might feel like to be an artist’s model for the day, and explore how Uglow used paint, precision, and perspective to capture bodies on canvas, by testing out some of his methods for yourself.
If you have a body, you belong here.
Note: The exhibition includes some nude artworks. Julia will use an approach grounded in age- and stage-appropriate safeguarding, consent, and body positivity, supporting participants to feel safe, regulated, and confident. All activities are optional and have been piloted with young people with visual impairments.
