  • Where: London (Brick Lane and surrounding areas)

  • Cost: £40

Join VICTA and the London Institute of Photography (LIoP) in vibrant Shoreditch, East London, an area now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, to learn how to take creative photographs in your own signature style.

What is the course about?

You will be inspired by professional photographers at the LIoP to explore the theme of ‘Self Portrait – a portrait of the self’ and ‘Perception’. You’ll learn how to create a series of photographs inspired by the constantly changing street art at Brick Lane, as well as conducting your own still life shoot on location in the studio – The Truman Brewery, a former brewery transformed into a creative hub. The second stage of the course will take you through the process of post-production and how to make your photos print ready.

What will the course cover?

You will have the opportunity to use your own camera, or a point-and-shoot-camera provided by LIoP. Themes discussed on the workshop are focussing and composition, exposure and creative techniques like light painting and working with reflections.

On the second day of the workshop, you will learn to edit your images in Adobe Lightroom to develop and apply your own signature style to the images produced during the workshop. You will leave the course with a professionally printed banner of your edited images and an Arts Award.
