Get involved in Sailing Vision Week this summer and learn the ropes as you spend a week sailing around the Solent!

Haslar Marina, Gosport will be hosting Sailing Vision Trust’s annual event, including the opening and closing night dinners. Yachts will be berthed together in the marina at the start and finish of the event. You will take part in a full week of sailing with other adult VI peers and the crew, learning new skills, building confidence and enjoying a life at sea as you sail around the Solent.

Having sailed to a variety of locations in and around the Solent during the week, the yachts and their crews will return to Haslar for the closing dinner on the evening of Friday 3 July.  The event will then end on the morning of Saturday 4 July when crews will disembark their yachts and return home.

The nearest railway station is Portsmouth Harbour, with Gosport then being reached via a 4-minute ferry crossing across the harbour, then the marina is a short distance away.  Sailing Vision Trust volunteers will meet you at the station and assist with these final stages of this journey.

It is important to note that you do not need any prior sailing experience to take part in this opportunity, all abilities are welcome and you will be supported by experienced staff while on the water. You will however need some degree of agility to traverse the sailing yacht you will be on as they are not specially equipped to be accessible for physical disabilities.
