Join VICTA as we celebrate learning and exploring Modern Foreign Languages such as Spanish, German and French!

To celebrate our ongoing partnership with ONCE (Spanish National Organisation for the Blind), we are delving into a day of cultural immersion exploring European cuisine and music while taking part in creative activities and find out more about how our Continental neighbours live.

The day is expected to run from 10am to 3pm with a lunch break. We will be tasting some food however it’s best to bring a packed lunch as well.

Note: we welcome applications for all 14-17s and you do not have to have taken part in our Online ONCE Sessions to be a part of this activity

Who can apply?

Applicants must be:

  • Registered or registrable blind or partially sighted
  • At least 14 years old on 31 January 2026
  • Aged 17 or under on 31 January 2026
  • Physically, socially and emotionally able to take part independently in a group setting with peers of a similar age
  • Able to communicate their needs independently
  • Able to maintain their own personal hygiene
  • Able to take medication independently (if applicable)

Eye condition

If this is the first VICTA activity that you are applying for, please note that applicants must be registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, or be able to provide proof that they are registerable. Any information or documents supplied must include the applicant’s name, date of birth and visual acuity.

If the applicant is registered, please include a copy of one of the following registration documents: - Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI) - Blind Registration Card issued by local authority If the applicant is not registered, please provide: - a letter from an ophthalmologist confirming visual acuity. We ask that if your child is coming on a VICTA activity and they use Whatsapp regularly to remind them their behaviour and language follows the expectations that we have when meeting in person – polite, courteous, and inclusive at all times.
