Join us for our annual celebration of VI sport as we bring together experienced coaches, inspirational athletes and leading figures in sport that will motivate you and your child into sport and physical activity.

This weekend is perfect for those just looking to find something new and enjoyable to keep active as well as those more competitive individuals wanting to challenge themselves. At previous VICTA Sport Family Weekends we have welcomed Paralympians and international athletes as well as the UK’s leading national governing bodies. The whole family can have a go at a vast variety of sports from judo through to blind baseball via goalball and boccia.

Hosted in the picturesque surrounds of PGL Caythorpe Court, the ensuite accommodation will ensure you have an enjoyable stay meeting lots of new and familiar families.

The minimum age for the activity groups is 7 years old. Younger siblings are welcome and there will be a toy room and craft area available for you to amuse your younger ones. Please note that any younger siblings not taking part in activities must be supervised by an adult.

If you would like to apply for your family to attend, please complete the online application form below.

If you are offered a place on this Family Weekend, you will need to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit of your family’s place. The remaining balance will be due no later than six weeks before the activity. The contribution required is £95 per person, 0 to 6 years are free (if this is your first family weekend or if you refer a friend who joins us on the weekend and they are new to VICTA, you will receive a £25 ‘credit note’ after the weekend to be used towards the cost of your VI child’s place on another VICTA activity). Your contribution covers your family’s accommodation, all organised activities and three warm meals per day.

The actual cost to VICTA per person to attend a Family Weekend is approximately £260, so if you are in a position to pay more than the minimum required that would be greatly appreciated. More importantly, given the costs, it is really important that you inform us if you are unable to accept your place so that it can be offered to another family on the waiting list.

We are expected to be over-subscribed so please make sure you get your applications in before the closing date.

Who Can Apply

Your child/ren with a vision impairment must be:

• Registered or registrable blind or partially sighted
• At least 7 on 24 July 2026
• Aged 17 or under on 27 July 2026
• Physically, socially and emotionally able to take part independently in a group setting with peers of a similar age
• Able to communicate their needs independently
• Able to maintain their own personal hygiene
• Able to take medication independently (if applicable)

Photographs and filming

Photographs and video footage may be taken during our activities. These will be used to create photo albums both on our website and on social media after the activity to share with family and friends and to celebrate the event, this may include your child’s name and age. e. We understand that some young people will use Whatsapp at home and each home has their own rules on technology. It is likely that your child will meet others on a VICTA activity that they’d like to stay in touch with. While we do not encourage the use of Whatsapp before the age of 16, we do encourage connections and friendships. We ask that if your child is coming on a VICTA activity and they use Whatsapp regularly to remind them their behaviour and language follows the expectations that we have when meeting in person – polite, courteous, and inclusive at all times. f. In order to ensure that activities are adequately staffed we need full and accurate information about all participants. Please note we reserve the right to refuse admission to the activity or ask a participant to leave the activity if the information given proves inaccurate or the conduct of the participant reaches an unacceptable level.

All the information will be treated in the strictest of confidence and made available only to those staff working with the participant.
