Get ready for eight epic, action-packed days filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. Meet new friends, build confidence, and create memories that’ll stick with you long after summer ends. Open to teens aged 14 to 17 with a vision impairment, this year’s VICTA Summer Camp is all about Advocacy – finding your voice, standing up for yourself, and making an impact.
Camp members will take part in lots of new and life changing experiences, developing key skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving as well as increasing independence and resilience. With an accommodation block exclusively for VICTA enveloped in a beautiful woodland backdrop, it’s a safe and supportive setting, surrounded by like-minded people who are ready for a week of fun, challenge and friendship.
During the day, not only will you take on some thrill-seeking fun such as the 3G swing, Aerial Trek and the zipwire but you will also be participating in a range of other activities, trying your hand at a VI sport, challenging your fellow campmates at a game of Taskmaster and earning qualifications and certificates. Previous years’ camps have included days off-site for bowling, sledging, making and mixing music, trying out VI Rugby, volunteering in the local community and creating nature art.
As part of the camp, you’ll earn yourself a Leadership qualification as well as an Arts Award Discover. Our 2026 camp is currently being planned and packed full of exciting workshops and activities and we can’t wait to share our plans with you.
In the evenings, there will be campfires, games and the opportunity to listen and network with VICTA young adults and guest speakers who have gone on to have success in sport, business and many other fields.
All of this personal development, including leaving the camp with a Leadership and Arts Award, will significantly help to boost your CV and future employability.
