Have you ever imagined yourself competing on the world stage as a Paralympic athlete? VICTA Sport can support your travel to Paralympics GB’s latest ‘Explore Your Paralympic Potential’ events this September and October.

‘Explore Your Paralympic Potential’ Events

Explore Events are exciting talent discovery days delivered by National Governing Bodies in partnership with ParalympicsGB. They’re designed to uncover athletic potential and connect you with performance pathways and opportunities that could lead to elite sport.

Sunday 13 September – The Snow Centre, Manchester

ParalympicsGB have partnered with Disability Snowsports UK, Snowsport England, British Biathlon, Snowsport Scotland and GB Snowsport to offer you the chance to try Para Alpine Skiing, Para Snowboarding and Para Nordic Skiing.

You will be matched with a qualified coach from each discipline dependent on your experience and disability. They will provide you with a small group coaching session, information on the sport, insights into classification and intel about how to continue the sport post Explore Day.

Saturday 3 October – Rivermead Leisure Centre, Reading

This event is for summer sports, and for females only. You will receive expert coaching and input from GB coaches who will support you to establish if you are suited to any of the sports. From there you will be supported with appropriate signposting and next steps.

VICTA Travel Offer

• VICTA will cover travel expenses up to £50 for those taking part in the ‘Explore Your Paralympic Potential’ events
• This offer only applies to the cost of the travel for a young person with a vision impairment between the ages of 10 to 25
• Please also note that this is a limited offer and VICTA reserves the right to close it once we reach capacity.

To benefit from this offer, you must:

• Be aged between 10 and 25 years old
• Be registered or registerable blind or partially sighted (VICTA may ask for a copy of you/your child’s registration documents or a letter from an ophthalmologist as confirmation).

Payment of travel expenses is subject to proof of attendance at the relevant event (a simple photo of you enjoying the event) and travel receipts/mileage claim. Funds are limited so please get your applications in early. Reimbursement will be processed after the event.
