Join VICTA Sport and All Aboard Watersports for a weekend of watersports fun and adventure!

After the success of 2025’s sailing taster day, we are delighted to work with All Aboard Watersports again for a watersport festival weekend. As well as sailing, try your hand at paddling, rowing and even open water swimming across two days of exciting watersport activity.

‘Open Minds Active’ will deliver a water safety workshop before taking a group out for an open water swimming dip (16+).

We are continually adding more activities to this event, so apply now to get the latest updates, including details of a powerboat session.

If you enjoy yourself on the day and want to carry on in any of the sports, All Aboard Watersports will be able to support you find the right entry point to continue. They have supported several VI young people continue in sailing and achieve their Level 1 qualification after attending the VICTA Sport taster day in 2025.

No previous experience required, and all kit will be provided – just bring your sense of adventure!

To qualify for this activity the lead applicant (your VI child) must be either registered or registerable as blind or partially sighted (sight impaired/severely sight impaired). VICTA will ask for supporting evidence post application if we have not previously received it.

It is likely that your child will meet others on a VICTA activity that they’d like to stay in touch with. While we do not encourage the use of Whatsapp before the age of 16, we do encourage connections and friendships. We ask that if your child is coming on a VICTA activity and they use Whatsapp regularly to remind them their behaviour and language follows the expectations that we have when meeting in person – polite, courteous, and inclusive at all times.
