Following the success of this year’s parent/carer conference, we’re delighted to announce that VICTA Parents Live will return in 2027!

Our annual conference brings parents and carers of children and young people with vision impairment together for a day of connection, learning and support.

Through a programme of informative and interactive workshops, an inspiring keynote, and an engaging panel discussion, the day will create space for parents to explore the experiences and challenges that can come with raising a child with vision impairment, whilst celebrating the knowledge, resilience and strength within our community.

Our aim is simple: to help parents feel informed, connected and empowered in their journey.

Navigating a world that is not always designed with the needs of children and young people with vision impairment in mind can feel overwhelming. Whether it’s advocating for your child’s needs, challenging misconceptions and perceptions, supporting inclusion, accessing the right services, or preparing your child for the opportunities and challenges ahead. Parents can often find themselves having to navigate systems and situations that were never designed with their family in mind.

That’s why community and collective support are so important.

Coming together with other parents who understand the journey can provide something that information alone cannot: the reassurance that you are not alone. The conference is an opportunity to share experiences, learn from others, ask questions, build connections and take away practical ideas that can help parents feel more confident in advocating for and supporting their children.

Above all, this is a space where parents can feel seen and heard.

Whether you are new to the world of vision impairment or have been navigating it for many years, we want this conference to be a day where you can learn, connect, reflect and leave feeling empowered.

What parents said about our previous conference:

“I am so glad I attended this conference. It was, without a doubt, a relevant and impactful conference.

I felt truly seen and heard, surrounded by other parents with similar experiences, and I left feeling empowered to voice my concerns. The organisers were wonderful, and their lived experience brought an authenticity and understanding that made the event even more meaningful.”

— Parent and conference attendee 2026

Join us in 2027 for another day of connection, conversation, learning and community – because no parent should have to navigate the journey alone.

Please note – We have made the decision to make our conference a parent-only event, creating dedicated time and space for parents to focus on the topics, conversations and experiences that matter to them. We know that some of the subjects we want to explore can be personal, sensitive and challenging, and having a parent-only environment allows us to create a space where parents can speak openly, ask questions and share experiences without needing to navigate the additional responsibilities that come with having their children with them.
