Earn your Young Achievers Science Badge with VICTA at Magna Science Park!

VICTA is off to Magna Science Park in Rotherham for a Young Achievers Science activity day. Join us as we explore the wonders of air, earth, fire and water in four different pavilions. Each pavilion contains lots of hands-on exhibits – even water so prepare to get wet! Magna brings science and technology to life in a fun and tactile way.

We will get to adventure through the centre and see what we can find, we’ll also take part in a workshop, learning all things science! As part of the day, primary school aged children with a vision impairment will also earn their VICTA Young Achievers Science badge in a day and continue their way to completing their medal at the end of the year. (Siblings will also earn a Super Siblings certificate and pin-badge for being, well… super!) Special personalised Braille certificates for the Young Achievers will follow soon after the activity.

Lunch isn’t provided so please bring a packed lunch, or there are places to purchase food onsite.

Please note, VICTA’s Young Achievers Award is aimed at those following a primary school curriculum however if your child is outside of this, we welcome your application to attend the day. Priority will be given to those families with children of a primary school age.

If this is the first VICTA activity that you are applying for, please note that applicants must be registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired, or be able to provide proof that they are registerable. Any information or documents supplied must include the applicant’s name, date of birth and visual acuity. *

Photographs and filming

Photographs and video footage may be taken during our activities. These will be used to create photo albums both on our website and on social media after the activity to share with family and friends and to celebrate the event, this may include your child’s name and age. VICTA may also use any photographs and/or video material taken during an event for marketing purposes, including being displayed on the VICTA website, on our social media channels, on charity emails and by connected third parties working in partnership with VICTA on this event/activity. We ask that if your child is coming on a VICTA activity and they use Whatsapp regularly to remind them their behaviour and language follows the expectations that we have when meeting in person – polite, courteous, and inclusive at all times.
