VICTA is excited to be able to offer young people with a vision impairment up to the age of 29 the chance to get active and attend some exciting sporting events with our subsidised travel offer!

VICTA is offering up to £50 travel expense cover to enable young people to take part in Metro Blind Sport’s Athletics  Games. Metro Blind Sport invites athletes of all experience and all abilities throughout the UK to join them at the Athletics Games.

The 2026 programme will be run under UKA/IBSA rules and is open to males and females, ages 10 years upwards. The athletics competitions are principally for registered blind and partially sighted people.

Every competitor will receive a free t-shirt.  Medals will be on offer. Packed lunches will be provided for all competitors, coaches, officials and volunteers.

Guide Runners can be arranged with advance notice, you will need to provide an estimate of your track times.

The VICTA offer

VICTA will cover travel expenses up to £50 for those wishing to attend the Metro Blind Sport Athletics Games. This offer only applies to the cost of the travel for a young person with a vision impairment from 10 years old up to the age of 29 and not for any travel companions.

To benefit from this offer, you must:

  • Live outside London
  • Be 10 to 29 years old at the time of the event
  • Be registered or registrable as having a vision impairment

Terms and Conditions: Payment of travel expenses is subject to proof of attendance at the Metro Athletics Games 2026 (a simple photo of you enjoying the event) and travel receipts/mileage claim. Confirmation of vision impairment

To qualify for this activity the lead applicant (your VI child) must be either registered or registerable as blind or partially sighted (sight impaired/severely sight impaired). VICTA will ask for supporting evidence post application if we have not previously received it.

e. We understand that some young people will use Whatsapp at home and each home has their own rules on technology. It is likely that your child will meet others on a VICTA activity that they’d like to stay in touch with. While we do not encourage the use of Whatsapp before the age of 16, we do encourage connections and friendships. We ask that if your child is coming on a VICTA activity and they use Whatsapp regularly to remind them their behaviour and language follows the expectations that we have when meeting in person – polite, courteous, and inclusive at all times.
