VICTA is delighted to announce that six-time Paralympic medallist and Britain’s most decorated Winter Paralympian, Menna Fitzpatrick, is joining VICTA as a Patron.

Vision impaired from birth, Menna has never let her vision impairment define what she can achieve. At her first Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018, Menna won four medals, including gold in the slalom. She went on to add silver in the Super-G and bronze in the Super Combined at Beijing 2022, becoming the most decorated British Winter Paralympian in history.

But it isn’t only Menna’s incredible achievements on the slopes that make her such a fantastic role model for the children and young adults VICTA supports. Her determination, resilience and ‘no limits’ attitude are qualities that resonate strongly with everything we want young people with a vision impairment to believe about themselves and their futures.

Part of the VICTA community

We have already had the pleasure of welcoming Menna to VICTA Sport activities, where she has seen first-hand the confidence, friendships and opportunities that our events can create. At our Snow Sports Taster Day in Manchester and at our annual Sports Family Weekend, Menna spent time chatting with children, young people and their families. These occasions gave our participants the opportunity to hear about her experiences, ask questions and learn from someone who understands many of the challenges they may face. For our young people in particular, this is incredibly powerful and leads a brilliant example of what can be achieved when you embrace opportunities and challenge expectations.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Menna as a VICTA Patron. She has already had a tremendous impact on the families and young people she has met on VICTA activities this summer, including our annual Sports Family Weekend. We’ve been in awe of her medal collection that she has so kindly shared at events, but we’ve been even more impressed by the warmth, enthusiasm and energy she has brought with her too. We are looking forward to working with her and getting her further involved with the charity’s work.” – Luke Wakefield, Director VICTA Sport

Menna is incredibly excited to become a Patron of VICTA, supporting a charity that helps children and young people who are visually impaired. She hopes to use her experience to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves, embrace opportunities and, most importantly, know that there really are no limits to what they can achieve.

“I’m so delighted to be joining VICTA as a Patron. The work they do to support visually impaired children, young people and their families is incredibly special, and I’m proud to be able to play a small part in helping shine a light on the amazing opportunities and experiences they create. I can’t wait to get more involved and meet more of the VICTA community!” – Menna Fitzpatrick

We are incredibly proud that Menna will now continue this relationship with VICTA as one of our Patrons. We look forward to working together to continue to inspire and create opportunities through inclusive sport.

Welcome to VICTA, Menna!
