VICTA is proud to be part of Audible’s Imagine Louder, a new global initiative putting the power of audio storytelling into the hands of young people.
Through this programme VICTA is taking our current Book Club for vision impaired young people beyond the book club to further strengthen literary engagement and enjoyment. We’re building a community around literacy which recognises the positive impact reading brings – giving blind and partially sighted children and young people a platform where they can share and express that joy and encourage new members to re-engage with reading.
By joining Beyond the Book, young readers aged 12 to 18 years will enjoy six months of unlimited Audible Premium listening, creative challenges, and exciting book club meetups, complete with special guests.
Audible launched their Imagine Louder programme this week, their first global programme leveraging their product for social good. For children and young people who have a vision impairment, audio books can offer a lifeline when accessing books, and we are delighted to be able to remove an access barrier by offering Audible Premium subscriptions and more! We are incredibly proud to be one of seven nonprofits selected globally for the first year of the programme.
