We were delighted to welcome 18 young people to the Natural History Museum for VICTA’s first ‘pre-teen’ activity for 10-13 year olds with a vision impairment. It was a great opportunity to get up-close and hands-on with some of the Museum’s more unusual exhibits. The demand for and the response to this event has been overwhelming. The day brought students together allowing friendships to form and bonds to emerge over shared problems, common interests and mutual understanding. In a fun and creative setting, and away from the supervision of parents, students took steps toward greater independence while strengthening key social skills.

Our calendar of activities for ‘pre-teens’ continues to grow, including an overnight sleepover at New College Worcester as well as some of our ‘Get Fit with VICTA’ sport taster days.
