The sand sculpture gallery
Thank you to everyone who grabbed their buckets and spades and entered our sandcastle competition. We loved seeing your entries and hope you had lots of fun building them. A big congratulations to our winner Mera Bedran age 10, and our runner up Chloe Stevenson, age 4, who were drawn at random from all of the entries. We hope you enjoy your Hobbycraft vouchers and keep expressing your creativity!

Anisa Akhtar, age 10
“I made this at the haven park on primrose valley. The tide’s going to take it away later and I had some help but I’m told it’s a good job.”
Anisa has made a beautiful turtle from sand and decorated its back with lots of shells, all of the same appearance with a pearlised shine to them. She has used two black pebbles for the eyes.

George Norris, age 7
The photo shows George getting up-close and decorating his lovely, traditional sandcastle with stones.

Emily Grote, age 10
Emily loves going to the beach and made a whopping 100 sandcastles by herself! The photo shows Emily standing behind them smiling with the castles neatly arranged in rows and decorated with shells on top.

Imogen, age 11
“It is a modern version of Windsor castle with a moat and a circle turret design. It has a road through the drawbridge around the castle and out the back it also has its own drive through McDonalds for the castle princesses! I created this in north Wales on our holidays.”

Mera Bedran, age 10
“I have been busy again with my mum and sister and made a water castle, which we made using big and small balls shaped pointy in the middle and then smaller and lower on the sides to be like triangle. These go all the way round with me sitting in the middle with water inside.”

Chloe Stevenson, age 4
“Chloe made this on West Kirby beach last week with some help from her sisters Alice and Isabella. We decorated it with shells we collected on the beach and some lovely soft feathers which we also found.”
The image shows two photos, one of Chloe patting her sandcastle and the other of her standing behind the finished castle.
Congratulations to Chloe who was drawn at random as the runner up of the sand sculpture competition!

Mera Bedran, age 10
“I made a star fish and turtle with my name Mera written in Braille at the top. I added the sign VICTA in letters.”
