The first wet and wild VICTA Water Sports Family Day saw us take a dip and the occasional splash into Caldecotte Lake in Milton Keynes.

The weather was on our side, with blue skies and bright sunshine keeping spirits and smiles high. Twenty families attended (70 people in total!) many of whom were new to VICTA. It was truly great to meet so many people, see their children make new friends and have fun, and provide the parents with the opportunity to connect with others in a similar situation.

Everyone was invited to join in with all the activities on the water, ranging from working as one big team during dragon boating, to working against each other while raft building. Next up for some was a slightly more relaxed activity, canoeing around the lake while enjoying the sights. The thrill-seekers among us took the chance to notch things up by going out on the speed boats!

For those moments on land, the Tesco Community Champions were on hand to provide some well-earned teas and coffees and plenty of cakes to keep everyone well fed and fuelled, before they went back onto the water for more energetic activities!

At the start of the day, we set out to provide a ‘Fun Family Day’, and from the smiles on everyone’s faces, I think it’s safe to say we achieved that!

We would like to extend our thanks to the Caldecotte Xperience staff for helping to deliver an amazing day for everyone who attended.
