VICTA would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who ran the marathon on our behalf. And we mustn’t forget those who supported, massaged and cheered their hearts out at the 2015 London Marathon. Thank you.

This year we were thrilled to be joined in the grandstand by a group of students from New College Worcester – a national residential school and college for young people aged 11 to 19 who are blind or partially sighted. Dressed in VICTA T-shirts they did an amazing job of cheering loudly and drumming up support with our cheering sticks!

For our runners, the weather was cool and the rain held off making it good running weather. Everyone did so well. By all accounts mile 21 was where it got tough but we hope the VICTA cheer points helped to keep you going. Our cheerleaders looked fabulous dressed up in rainbow colours with tutus and pompoms – thank you ladies for volunteering and for your infectious energy, you made a real difference to the runners!

There have been so many inspiring stories of people starting with no running experience or overcoming injuries to cross the finish line. It was a pleasure to meet many of you at the post race reception where some were also able to get a much needed massage. We have to say a big thank you to the masseurs who were all volunteers and gave up their time to help!

It was great to see some old faces and welcome new runners too. We have had lots of requests for 2016 so please register your interest here if you would like to do so. Don’t forget we also have cyclists places for RideLondon-Surrey 100 this summer so if you know anybody who may be interested please send them our way!

We also have to thank Greg who kindly volunteered to stand in one place for hours trying to capture VICTA runners as they came down The Mall! He did a great job: check through our gallery below as we may have a photo of you.

Thanks again for all you enthusiasm, determination and hard work fundraising – it is truly appreciated.
